+ CLINICAL PHILOSOPHY
The philosophy behind Specs & Spines Chiropractic is integrative medicine through chiropractic, acupuncture and active rehabilitation.
Chiropractic addresses the structural integrity of your joints, nerves and muscles. By addressing dysfunction, we improve your body's posture and alignment allowing you to function optimally.
Acupuncture is the technique of stimulating the body's natural ability to heal by inserting needles at specific points. Ongoing research has shown that acupuncture is effective at treating and preventing dysfunction for many different conditions.
Active rehabilitation is an important component of care at our clinic. It transitions patients from passive treatment to active strengthening and rehabilitation of your musclo-skeletal system. We follow the philosophy that movement and exercise is the best medicine. We will teach you how train your body to increase stamina, strength, endurance and prevent future injuries.
Dr. Koh initially became interested in chiropractic following a sports injury. He sought many forms of treatment before a friend referred him to a local chiropractor. Within a few weeks, the chiropractor had Dr. Koh functioning at the high level he was accustomed to. Following this experience, Dr. Koh became motivated to help others the way chiropractic helped him.
Dr. Koh is a 2001 graduate of Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas. He is trained in a variety of chiropractic techniques including Activator and Diversified. Dr. Koh holds an Advanced Proficiency Standing in Activator chiropractic technique as well as accredited training in clinical acupuncture through the Acupuncture Council of Ontario (ACO). Dr. Koh looks forward to meeting you and is dedicated to keeping you healthy!
In September 2012, Dr. Koh joined the Inter-professional Spine Assessment and Education Clinics (ISAEC) as an Advanced Practice Clinician (APC). This exciting new initiative is a new model of care using allied health care professionals to provide patients with evidence based self management strategies as well as streamlined access to specialists.
